This was so much fun… quiet dark at times and a little dysfunctional. I think this is Paul King’s first real film, we know him from the mighty boosh series and those who love the boosh will love this film!
I was expecting surreal situations, offbeat funny and a plot that makes as much sense as a Mandarin movie without subtitles. What I was not expecting is some of the most clever and beautiful cinematography and a touchingly well executed storyline that deals with serious issues in the lightest and most humorous way. The animation was especially well done. Paul King shows everyone that you don’t need a huge budget to make a good film.
