The impressionistic story of a Texas family in the 1950s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.

Ok, firstly you cannot let public opinion influence your take on this film… also, don’t expect a main stream style Hollywood film… if Brad Pitt and Sean Penn are the deciding factors in you getting “Tree Of Life” then stop! From a film perspective this was beautifully made… all be it way over dramatic… think… Jarmusch sponsored by National Geographic. I got it… it wasn’t hard to get just tiresome and complete over kill! If you like to analyse and dissect film then this was made for you!!!
